'Make Your Own Journal' kit
Made within the body of a pre-loved hard-back book my 'Altered Journals & Memory Books' become beautiful objects within themselves.
The beauty of the altered journal is that each one always turns out completely unique and a 'One Off' piece, this is what excites me about this way of working, nothing is ever the same and it is all about the little details that are created along the way.
A hand stitched pocket with the words 'My Story' hand embroidered on, a small scrap of shirt collar that becomes a page marker and a discarded envelope that now holds a special note.
The journey of creating an altered journal can be as simple or as complex as one likes, once you start the journey enjoy letting it evolve. It is nice to start making a journal with a story in mind. For example a holiday journal or a journal to document a memorable event, both in the future or in the past.
Once you have prepared and created your pages and decorated the front of your own journal, you have a perfect back blank canvas to house your own memories, events, drawings, notes or family recipes collection.
I have designed and put together this kit to inspire you and help you create your own 'Altered Journals and Memory Books' inspired by my own precious books.
This kit includes a selection of especially designed and hand printed paper and card items to help you create your own book in my signature style.
Each kit includes a vintage hard-back book that I have personally sourced for you.
Please be aware that buttons and the sash ribbons included, plus the vintage hard-back books will vary in each pack.
Each kit comes with full paper instructions to guide you through the process.
Each kit contains the following items:
x 1 hand sourced vintage hard-back book
x 1 A2 size sheet of lovely paper for cutting and using in collage
x 1 skein of DMC embroidery floss in red
A handful of vintage buttons
