Stitch, Patch & Play Workshop (November 15th 2025)

This group class, is one of three embroidery classes which will take place (November 13th, 14th, 15th 2025) to coincide with my upcoming, solo exhibition
Jessie Chorley: Find, Play, Placed, Embroidered at Thames-Side Gallery, London.

My solo exhibition will open firstly at Ruthin Craft April 5th-June 29th 2025. It will then return to South London and be open to the public at Thames-Side Gallery during the below dates and times during Autumn 2025:

Exhibition Dates: November 6th-November 16th 2025.
Opening Times: 10.30am-5pm
Special Preview Evening: Friday November 7th 2025 @ 5pm-9pm (a free mini embroidery workshop will take place during this preview evening)

Workshop Description:

This workshop will focus on my signature style of hand embroidery, combined with patching and appliqué techniques. You will be filling in and starting your own version of my signature embroidery templates. There will be a large and varied selection of my templates for you to choose from, at the start of this class. Please note one template comes FREE, with the overall price of this class. You will also be given a free paper stitch guide to take home.

The main focus of this workshop is to create a beautiful, one-off stitched memento. I will work with you individually, to choose a colour palette that suits you, the maker. You are welome to work with my threads and fabric scraps scraps on the day, but also feel free, to bring your own threads, fabric scraps, scissors and needles.

At the start of this class, I will show you a selection of my original embroidered samplers/template designs to inspire you. I will then direct you both as a group and individually to create your own version of one of my signature designs.

As with all my classes, I suggest you approach this day as an explorative and peaceful slow-stitching experience, while being inspired by my original art works, samples and materials that will surround you. Allow yourself mindfull time during this class, to embrace and learn new techniques. We will be working all together around one big table within the Thames-Side Gallery.

There is free car parking outside and very close to the gallery. London transport links can be found via Google and TFL, using the above post code and address.

Time of Workshop:
11am–4pm

Please arrive at 10.30am for a cup of tea/coffee and to get settled in.

Dress Code:
Wrap up and enjoy wearing your favourite knits. This class will be in a very large room and you may find it cold.

Once this workshop has been booked and confirmation has been sent, I do not offer a refund if you have to cancel, unless I am able to re-sell your place. So if you need to cancel a booking for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. This will give me time to re-advertise your place, although I can never guarantee that I will be able to re-sell it. In the unlikely event that I, Jessie Chorley, have to cancel your workshop for an unavoidable reason, your full payment will be refunded.
